Women - Find Ways to Save On Auto Insurance
If you are a woman looking for inexpensive car insurance, there are likely two primary issues you need to be concerned with:
- It’s highly possible that if your agent or insurance company recommended a plan to you, you’re probably overpaying by up to 50%.
- As with most things, when it comes to finding good but inexpensive insurance, knowledge is power. More often than not, the insurance company has the knowledge, but with some due diligence you, too, can have the knowledge and power to save on your insurance premiums.
Women searching for inexpensive auto insurance need to ask the right questions – and plenty of them! Writing your questions down before you contact an agent is often very helpful in making sure each detail is covered.
The following checklist is some basic questions to help you get started:
- Ask for every discount for which you’re entitled. Create a list of the discounts you already receive, then use an organized approach with your agent to discover additional ones. Be sure you include vehicle safety features and lifestyle issues.
- Review your deductibles for collision and comprehensive. Be sure you completely understand both of these types of insurance; these typically revolve primarily around the condition and age of the vehicle you drive.
- Review bodily injury liability; you will need to know your net worth to determine the appropriate coverage.
- Review your property damage liability coverage. Again, you’ll need to know your net worth for this coverage.
- Review, change, cancel, or decline your uninsured motorist coverage. You may not be required to carry this coverage, so take the necessary steps to minimize your premiums.
- Review, change, cancel, or decline your no fault/personal injury coverage. There are a variety of options available to you, depending upon the state in which you live; be sure to check with your agent regarding your state’s requirements.
- Review, add, cancel, or decline your medical coverage/payments; If you already have good medical insurance, this coverage is essentially unnecessary.
- You most likely do not need death/dismemberment coverage, loss of sight coverage, or any other “loss of” coverage. When you’re looking to cut your premiums, evaluate other options such as life insurance to cover these tragedies.
- Cancel or decline any extras you may have; comprehensive/collision coverage on older vehicles is unnecessary (oftentimes even a minor accident will “total” the car).
It’s really not that difficult to conduct a successful search for inexpensive car insurance for women if your are organized and ask the right questions. Take the time to prepare and you will soon be saving significantly on your auto insurance premiums.
